At Mystic Dice Falls, characters gather&hellip;
At the northern edge of the jungle, just to the east of the river Soshenstar, a Batari hunter of the Raptor Clan crouches in a thick patch of vegetation as a swarm of Compsognathus dart about him. The air thrums with predatory rattles vibrating out of their tiny throats. Dropping a piece of meat to his &lsquo;children,&rsquo; he stares northward. Some thirty miles ahead, the walls of Port Nyanzaru rise to shield the city from the dangers of the Chult, but the goblin&rsquo;s Queen was clear&mdash;the dreamers prophesied that a cure to the death curse would arrive among the wall-squatters, so Tokz squatted and waited.
At Mystic Dice Falls, characters become heroes&hellip;
Leonardo narrows his eyes and focuses, the psychic blade solidifying in his grasp like a painful memory. Blood drips from a cut on the half-elf&rsquo;s brow. Sweat beads between his shoulder blades&mdash;Kryptgarden Forest&rsquo;s muggy air clinging to his skin. Everything shudders with Old Gnawbone&rsquo;s frustrated roar and the cascading wave of acrid stench that wafts away from its acidic breath. The earth churns under the clawed weight of the dragon as it thrusts itself up into flight through the wide tunnels of its lair. Leanardo&rsquo;s blade leaves his fingertips, arcing towards the escaping dragon, thudding into its thick hide. Its eyes roll back into its head, its roar hisses to an anguished close, and a trickle of blood leaks from its ears. The ground shakes, for Leonardo&rsquo;s blade heralded the dragon&rsquo;s death, sending it skidding back across the earth to his party&rsquo;s cheers.

Like the heroes in the stories emerging from our tables, the Dungeon Masters of Mystic Dice Falls came together in response to tragedy. From various cities across Canada and the United States of America, we gathered to supply players with a distraction from the events surrounding Covid. Since then, we have formed a community of storytellers with backgrounds varying from restaurant managers to doctoral scholars studying the medium of the table-top roleplaying game. The one thing we all have in common is a passion for running these games and a talent for setting a table with the ingredients required for memorable stories to develop. Stories have formed from the multiverse of tables we use to host Dungeons &amp; Dragons, Cyberpunk Red, Vampire the Masquerade, or whatever other game has captured the imaginations of our players. Whether any given player came to sate their hunger or heed the call, however, stories are the bedrock of community, and here, our community has developed into a thriving celebration of tabletop games complete with storytelling events, raffles, and prizes.
